Tamil Cinema has many many significant actors and actresses right from the ancient era. One such significant and resolute actress is Selvi J.Jayalalitha who had had a wide range of experience in the field. This piece of writing is done as a tribute to iconic lady.
Her experience in the field of cinema started from 1961 in the movie 'Epistle'. Though her featuring in the movie started in the 1961, she was already a performer then. She was a multi-faceted personality, in the sense, she was a professional dancer ( Bharathanatyam, Kathak, Mohiniattam and Manipuri ) and singer ( professionally trained in classical singing ) and also a good western classical piano player.
Her entry to the industry was when she gave her debut dance performance. It was Shivaji Ganesan who gave her family the idea of bringing her into the field after seeing her dance performance.
She has tasted her fluency in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu,Malayalam, and Kannada. In those days, the actors have to talented enough to dance, sing, dub their own voice,etc. She was near perfection in all these.Close associates of Dr.J.Jayalalitha say that she used to by-heart all the songs and dialogues in the film she acted.
She has acted for 140 films which is a significant number. She was a child artist first and later played the lead roles. Her first film as a lead actresses in Tamil is 'Ayirathil Oruvan'. People say her acting is so good that the audience feel her emotion for the role she played.
She has earned many awards which are listed below:

And in being the leader of the state , she went to the extreme height. And her first movie is 'Vennira Aaadai' in Tamil, 'Aayirathil Oruvan' is her first movie with MGR. That was really a reminiscent tribute. SUPERB SUSHMA !!
